What's Brewing...

2/1/26: For Issue Two (Spring / Renewal / New Beginnings), Homemade Author Magazine is honored to feature poet Katrina Serwe, a writer whose work lives where healing meets the trailhead, while rooted in nature, attention, and the quiet courage of starting again. With a background as a therapist, professor, and researcher in occupational therapy (BS, MS, PhD), she blends her love of language and the outdoors through what she calls “poemwalking,” often writing from inside the moving, breathing world of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Her poems have appeared widely and have earned recognition from the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets and the Wisconsin Writers Association, and her collection First Steps: Poemwalking the Ice Age National Scenic Trail in Northern Kettle Moraine traces renewal in real time—one mile, one line, one new beginning at a time.
