A State of Healing
A State of Healing grew out of Wisconsin’s writing rooms—open mics, workshops, and late-night circles where strangers stepped up and shared their pain, their triumph, and their search for hope. Sensing a powerful, repeatable energy in those spaces, G. Anthony wanted to “bottle it” for his family, friends, and wider community. This anthology gathers Wisconsin poets, writers, artists, and creatives from all walks of life, offering poetry, memoir, essays, fiction, visual art, and hybrid work rooted in real experience: grief, addiction, mental health, illness, recovery, and quiet growth. Carefully arranged so it reads like a true journey—voices rising and softening, courage and vulnerability trading places—A State of Healing becomes both record and companion: a *local mirror that says, “This is us,” and a gentle hand on the shoulder that says, “You’re still here. Keep going.”
