A Wisconsin Anthology of Resilience Through Words

A STATE OF HEALING

Celebrate the power of words as Wisconsin voices guide us from hurt to hope—through poems, essays, and stories that heal, uplift, and transform.

Our Mission

A State of Healing exists to gather and amplify the authentic voices of Wisconsin poets, writers, and creatives as they explore healing in its many forms. Through poetry, essays, memoir, and hybrid work, the anthology documents lived experiences with grief, addiction, mental health, illness, recovery, and personal growth, offering readers a sense of recognition, connection, and shared humanity. Rooted in local communities and drawn from all walks of life, A State of Healing preserves the energy of Wisconsin’s writing rooms and open mics, where courage is spoken into the air and hope is exchanged in real time. The mission of this project is to create a companion for those navigating their own journeys, and to illuminate the truth that healing is a communal effort: we learn from one another, we rise together, and we are never as alone as we fear.
